Voyager Disembarks In U.S. Bankruptcy Court

Mortally wounded by Three Arrows Capital, Voyager yesterday filed for bankruptcy. Three Arrows went belly up last week. The well-known crypto fund suffered significant losses connected with the recent crypto crash; Voyager suffered losses from its exposure to the well-known crypto fund.

Voyager’s largest creditor is Sam Bankman-Fried’s Alameda Research which has an unsecured claim of $75 million (CNBC).

Last month, Alameda, embracing the role of lender of last resort, extended Voyager a $500 million line of credit in an apparently futile effort to stave off insolvency.

Several platforms, including Celsius, Babel Finance and Vauld, share the same dire predicament – inundated by customers seeking withdrawals – and as a result they have had to halt activity whilst scrambling for lifelines.

Meanwhile, confounding macroeconomic forces continue to create concerns. Copper recently plunging to its lowest mark in 17 months – not exactly the worst news from an inflation-minded perspective – is nevertheless being taken as a deafening alarm bell warning of a global recession
